The evidence

It ran for years, and it was graded. Here is what happened, in order, and what others said. People quoted here knew me as Maisie.

2012 to 2013. Graded Outstanding by Ofsted as a registered early years provider. Certificate signed by Sir Michael Wilshaw, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector.
2013 to 2014. Graded Outstanding again at the second inspection in a row, under the same Ofsted registration, with the same Chief Inspector's signature. The practice then grew into the Maisie Poppins nursery and preschool, which had its own Ofsted registration from 2018. In November 2021 Maisie Poppins passed to First Day Nursery Ltd, which registered with Ofsted on 8 November 2021.
2013. Training delivered to the local authority's childminder network, certified by the then local Mayor. The model was training other early years professionals before it was ever written up.
2016. The original holistic parenting course, piloted free with strong written feedback. Being revived and updated now.
2017. The ethos written up in full, with the theory underneath it and its grounding in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
2022. The model independently named and dated in a published Famly article, "The Maisie Poppins Way: An Early Years Ecosystem."
2023 onward. The Neurodictionary and MeMap built and in active use.
2025. Postgraduate Certificate in Autism, Distinction, Sheffield Hallam University.
2026. A publisher is keen to commission a book of The Early Years Ecosystem once it is in use in more settings.
2026. Model checked and updated against the EYFS statutory framework changes effective 1 September 2026 and Ofsted's early years report card inspection approach, so it reflects current practice, not the framework it was built under.
"Her practice is inspirational."Ofsted inspection report, 5 July 2013
"Ms Collin runs a very professional service… where she delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage to a very high standard, resulting in her gaining an ‘Outstanding’ grade from Ofsted at inspection on two consecutive occasions… she holds a waiting list of over 40 children."Hilary Wilgress, Childminding Network Co-ordinator, 6 May 2015
"With two 'Outstanding' ratings from Ofsted under her belt, Maisie has clearly demonstrated that she is an effective early years practitioner. But what makes Maisie stand out is her desire to share her ideas and expertise with others in an effort to raise standards in the sector and ultimately improve the wellbeing of children."Victoria Flint, Director of Communications, PACEY, 12 May 2016
